Design in Motion: Hospitality and Retail Projects Taking Shape Across the UK

25/05/26, 09:45

As we move through spring, JWA Architecture's projects are gathering pace across the country—from vibrant hospitality interiors to efficient retail builds. Each scheme reflects our commitment to creating spaces that are functional, welcoming, and designed to last.

Bar 85 at Travelodge London Stratford Centre

Three months on from opening, the new Bar 85 at Travelodge London Stratford Centre continues to attract guests and locals alike.

Part of Travelodge’s latest refurbishment programme, the concept celebrates the brand’s heritage (its first hotel opened in 1985) while embracing a modern, flexible approach to dining and socialising.

Distinct zones, retro neon signage, and music‑inspired artwork create a space that feels both nostalgic and fresh. It’s a design that invites people to linger, whether for a morning coffee or an evening drink.

Costa Coffee: Four Sites Under Construction

Meanwhile, four new Costa Coffee sites in Ashington, Blyth, Hattersley, and Darlington are progressing at different stages of construction.

Each project is being monitored by JWA Architecture UK, ensuring consistency and quality across the rollout.

These builds reflect Costa’s ongoing commitment to accessible, welcoming environments, and spaces that balance operational efficiency with comfort and warmth.

A Year of Delivery and Design

2026 is shaping up to be a year of delivery across multiple sectors.

Our work with Travelodge and Costa Coffee highlights how thoughtful design can elevate everyday experiences, from the first impression at check‑in to the moment a customer orders their coffee.

Behind every project is a shared goal: to create spaces that feel intuitive, human, and enduring.

Follow JWA Architecture for more updates as these projects move toward completion, and as we continue shaping spaces that bring people together.
